Asbestos Removal from Florida School

Clay County school officials recently announced that they would be taking necessary steps to remove asbestos from the school’s property.

The asbestos removal will take place in order to ensure the health and safety of the hundreds of students who attend the elementary school.

Asbestos Found in School Walls

According to reports, asbestos was found in the walls of the school.

“We’re removing some transite-paneled walls and replacing those with concrete-block walls and new doors,” explains Ross Tholand, from Clay County Schools.

Tholand says that to their knowledge, years ago all the friable asbestos and other harmful materials were removed from the schools and structures surrounding Clay County.

Parents Relieved About Asbestos Removal

Parents who have children at Keystone Elementary School say they’re happy that the school is taking the initiative to take care of the asbestos cancer problems.

“I’m glad to know that they’re removing it now and we won’t have to worry about it in the future,” said one mother.

The entire asbestos removal is reportedly expected to be done within 30 days.
